The Moors and Christians Fiesta (Moros y Cristianos) is a tradition dating back to the 16th Century, and commemorates Christians’ triumph after the great battle which took place in the 13th Century, ending the Moors’ 800 year rule of Spain.

Every November, Benidorm celebrate’s its Fiestas Mayores Patronales in honour of the Virgen del Sufragio and San Jaime. The fiestas begin on the weekend of November’s second Sunday and end the following Wednesday.

Benidorm’s famous annual Fancy Dress Party takes place on the Thursday after the November Fiestas. Thousands of British people, both residents and visitors are joined by people of other nationalities to participate in Europe’s biggest fancy dress street party.

After the success of the very 1st Elvis at the Blue Lagoon, this event will be returning on Thursday 20th June 2024 for a second year. 

The spectacular Three Kings procession is one of the highlights of Benidorm’s Christmas calendar, particularly for children, as it marks the arrival of their presents. The costumed trio ride through the streets, throwing sweets into the buzzing crowds.

The Fallas is a traditional celebration held in commemoration of San José (Saint Joseph) in the Valencian Community. The word Fallas (or Falles in Valenciano) can refer either to the celebrations themselves or to the giant, colourful papier-mâché effigies which are eventually burnt on the final night of the celebrations.

No visit to Benidorm is complete without a night out at the world famous Benidorm Palace. Enjoy dancers, acrobats and magicians from around the world in elegant surroundings at this top class “Vegas” style show. 

Travel by boat to the Costa Blanca’s only inhabited island, Tabarca. A lovely place to spend a day relaxing in the sun, with its beaches, coves and clear water. You’ll find several restaurants serving up typical local dishes. You’ll also discover interesting monuments, the lighthouse and the 18^th Century Governor’s House. 

If you’re new to scuba diving, you can enjoy a beginner’s dive either on the Benidorm Island (from a boat) or from the Malpás beach. If you have your diving licence already then enjoy a 30-minute dive at the island.

The Benidorm Cliff Hike is a fantastic way for keen hikers to discover some of the area’s breathtaking unspoilt scenery during an invigorating morning out.
