Every November, Benidorm celebrate’s its Fiestas Mayores Patronales in honour of the Virgen del Sufragio and San Jaime. The fiestas begin on the weekend of November’s second Sunday and end the following Wednesday.

Benidorm’s famous annual Fancy Dress Party takes place on the Thursday after the November Fiestas. Thousands of British people, both residents and visitors are joined by people of other nationalities to participate in Europe’s biggest fancy dress street party.

The Moors and Christians Fiesta (Moros y Cristianos) is a tradition dating back to the 16th Century, and commemorates Christians’ triumph after the great battle which took place in the 13th Century, ending the Moors’ 800 year rule of Spain.

If you’re new to scuba diving, you can enjoy a beginner’s dive either on the Benidorm Island (from a boat) or from the Malpás beach. If you have your diving licence already then enjoy a 30-minute dive at the island.

Board the catamaran at 09:45 from the port of Calpe and begin your day of chilled-out fun. Sit or lie on the catamaran’s net floor whilst you relax and enjoy the beautiful coastline with its coves, crystal clear waters and rocky cliffs.
