Discover two of the most visited villages in Spain where you will have two hours in each destination* . The first stop of the day will be the mountain top village of Guadalest, where you will have ample time to explore this truly stunning place and visit one of the numerous museums, shops and cafes. The village dates back over a 1000 years and is steeped in history, from the prison and dungeon built in the 12th century to the old washing house used by the local woman and has just over 200 inhabitants.
The village of Algar is in complete contrast to Calpe and really is a holiday must. There is something for everyone at this beautiful paradise. The Waterfalls are such a peaceful place, where you can just sit and relax and enjoy a picnic while dipping your toes in the icy cold water in one of the many pools. For the more adventurous there are areas designated for diving into the icy cold waters if you dare!
You’ll be collected by coach at your chosen start point. Once everyone is onboard, accompanied by an English-speaking representative, you’ll head inland and begin your ride up the mountains, during which you’ll be able to enjoy breathtaking scenery.
You’ll arrive in the village of Guadalest around 11am. You’ll have plenty of free time to enjoy the village’s famous museums, gift shops and stalls selling locally produced goods such as honey, sweets, cured meats, olive oils etc. The coach representative will be able to offer you a discount museum entrance pack on the day, if required.
On leaving Guadalest you will then start the descent down to the village of Callosa before reaching the village of Algar.
The waterfalls are situated on several different levels, and there is a pathway and steps which you can follow right up to the top. On your way up you’ll pass by natural bathing pools, diving pools, spectacular scenery and plenty of places to sit and relax or have a swim. You’ll find plenty or bars and restaurants. Remember to take a towel, a change of clothes and of course sun protection.
The representative will confirm the meeting point and time for returning back to Calpe. You’ll arrive back at the hotels around 17:00.
Please note that anybody with walking difficulties will have very limited access to the waterfalls due to the number of steps.
*In the months of June & September 3-3.5 hours may be given in Guadalest.
